This volume completes the series of three volumes comprising the Handbook of Prussian History. The chronological emphasis is on the Early Modern Period (16th-18th cent.). State and politics are presented in a chronological review, while a historiographical introduction presents the development of Brandenburg-Prussia as a research topic. The Handbook draws a critical balance and provides new impulses for scholarly work in the field.
